Stop Popping Pimples!
The upcoming generation has been taught to accept nothing less than instant gratification. Advancements in technology that have paved the way for medical procedures such as liposuction and facelifts have consequently distorted our view of how things really are. For instance, acne is one of those disorders which does not respond rapidly to treatment. For some reason or another, people refuse to accept this fact. If their treatments don’t begin to work within a few days time, they resort to picking at their pimples. If you wish to escape this dreaded condition, popping pimples is not the recommended route. Such behavior can result in drastic consequences.
We engage in squeezing pimples not so much for enjoyment, but rather to eliminate them. Our initial intention is rarely realized, at least not on a long-term basis. Attacking pimples with your fingers forces the acne bacteria deeper into your skin, allowing the lesion to erupt later on. You can also easily spread the bacteria to pores within close range. The gratification you get from squeezing one zit is not worth two new blemishes.
The risk of acne scars is not one you want to brush aside when considering whether or not you want to squeeze a pimple. Scars are largely caused by bad habits, more than the lesions themselves. Inflamed lesions are often the worst offenders when it comes to scarring, as they take some work to pop. If you don’t want to conclude your acne treatment with expensive laser scar treatments, you should best reform your habits now.
You can believe what you want, but rest assured that there are no instant or overnight treatments for acne. When you are ready to face reality, you can stop tampering with your lesions. The faster you come to this realization, the more hopeful your future looks.
You can get decent results within a smaller time period by using some benzoyl peroxide in a 2.5% concentration. This will dry your acne out and prevent your pores from becoming clogged in the future. However, if you decide to first tamper with the pimple, don’t expect any results.
